wren

Pomegranate in hand, eyes half-lidded, face flushed and mouth agape

Agape, Eros, Philia

Deep inhale, teeth splitting flesh, mouth stained red red red

Lapping, gnashing, lips tongue cheeks

Juice spilling down throat and chin, blood-scented breath

To dig fingers beneath peel, scarlet drying on skin

Knuckles and nails, vermillion grief

Fruit and teeth and red red red

Exhale
