Right On Time

GenXer Shamrocker ☘️

Odelia has made it to Obadiah’s just in time. Obadiah is happy to see Odelia arrive. As she walks into his home she’s feeling nervous. She wonders if she can do this. Obadiah fills in Odelia on his mom. She can see that this for Obadiah is quite hard. She’s learned that Opal has only a few months left to live. Some how, some way, Obadiah hopes she’ll make it through this. His faith has taught him to hold on. Yes there are times he gets it wrong. That’s when he brings it to Him above. Knowing he has a much greater plan; in purpose and in love. Odelia meets Opal for the first time. Suddenly she begins to cry. Odelia walks over to her and takes her by the hand. “What is it Opal?” She asks; “help me understand.” Opal confides in Odelia all the things she’s carried throughout the years. She tells of her hopes for Obadiah and of how she’s carried some fear. Odelia just listens for today. Taking in all of this she has nothing to say. Opal and Odelia seem to be getting off to a good start. I promise there’s only one final part.

Another chapter complete and I guess I'll have to come back for the end. You have captured an interesting psychological element in your poems and that is the serial strength to bring the reader back
