Eyes of Glass, Hearts of Stone

David Wakeling

Eyes of glass ,
Hearts of stone,
Living on snake venom,
Dogs lead to the bone.

The murderers:

Myra Hindley

Blood of bile and sulphuric acid,
Born from a rabid dog and a cat with a cancerous womb,
Nerves of broken glass and urine.
The Queen of the ugly banchee bitches.

Ian Brady

Pure Evil from the wells of Hell,
Lacking brains, lacking conscience and lacking humanity.
A throw-back to the apes and gorillas in man’s evolution.
Burnt to dust and thrown to the sea.
Never to be seen of again.

Eyes of glass ,
Hearts of stone,
Living on snake venom,
Dogs lead to the bone.

The innocent victims:-

The beautiful and divine Pauline Reade
Murdered at the age of sixteen
She was on her way to the local dance.
Dressed in a gorgeous pink and gold party dress,
She even had on her new white stilettoes.
She was so beautiful and trusting.
Hindley persuaded her to get in the Car.
They drove to Saddleworth Moor and was beaten and stabbed Pauline to death

The handsome and intelligent John Kilbribe
Murdered at the age of 12.
He was snatched from Ashton Market Saturday November 23 1963
He was strangled by Hindley and Brady and left in a shallow grave on the Moor.

The wonderful and joyous Keith Bennet
Murdered at the age of 12
Grabbed by Myra and Ian while he was on his way to his beloved grandmother.
They drove him to the Moors and murdered him. His body has never been found.

The wonderful Lesley Ann Downey.

Murdered at age 10

She was lured back to Hindley’s house.
She begged for her life but was brutally assaulted.
They even recorded the event on tape.
They buried her on the Moor and took photographs of the spot.

It takes a great mind to understand the ugliness in this world,
Perhaps we are not made in God’s image at all,
We are just car accidents on a lonely country road.

We all have the capacity for good, and evil. Some take both to extremes. England seems to have their fare share.

Indeed.Evil walks on two legs. Thanks for commenting

It takes a different kind of mind to understand ugliness, pain, destruction, to have eyes to see in the dark. Another difficult read that is highly emotional and that is the primary element in an artistic poem
