A new day

LP2187

The light from the sun marks a new day

Fighting the darkness of black and grey

The golden beams help us find our way

Lighting the sky with a refreshing ray

The light from the sun marks a new day

The golden beams help us find our way

The countryside is filled with piles of hay

The coast is has a boat dock and bay

The light from the sun marks a new day

Wishing the brightness in the sky could stay

And the clouds would clear and part away

The golden beams help us find our way

The children wake up and begin to play

Finding everything entertaining and okay

The light from the sun marks a new day

With the breeze the trees continue to sway

And the birds fly high and dance ballet

The light from the sun marks a new day

The golden beams help us find our way

Monorhyme in quatrains and I didn't bother to suss out the metre. Kinda a fun exercise, isn't it, though? Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a curious poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

I stand corrected: tercet stanzas. Thank you, Tristan! And keep having fun with poetry!

Love the monorhyme and how it is structured in tercets with a concluding quatrain. The flow of this is very musical, each line feels very connected to the previous. The message is wonderful as well...the darkness is present but even more so is the presence of light. Well done, my friend. Enjoyed this a lot. An easy fave. 🌹👏
