God talks to Adrian in a Dream.

David Wakeling

Adrian had been working 12 hour days at the Mill,
He was exhausted and so he took a sleeping pill.
He didn’t quite make it to his bed,
He fell fast asleep on the floor instead.
As the Moon flickered through his window,
He heard a voice in his head nice and slow.

“Adrian this is God, don’t be alarmed.
I prefer to talk to people in their dreams.
That way I have plausible deniability.
Like Nixon did in Vietnam.
Also I am a Silent God because I hate Drama.

You may be wondering why I am so Silent.
I mean I love music. I have a heavenly choir after all.
It's just that you humans don’t get it.
Let me explain.
Life is meant to be a quiet dance between two lovers.
It's not suppose to be all that dramatic. I hate drama.
You are suppose to settle down have a few kids,
Write a few bad poems if you have to,
And drift off to fairy land.
There is No need for drama just silence for ever.
As I always say. “Man at his best is silent.”
Now wake up Adrian you have another 12 hour shift to do.”
