Plentiful Providings

Tune: Wiltshire

('Through all the changing scenes of life')

2 Corinthians 9 v.8-11

*********

God is able to make all grace

Abound, whate'er you face

That you provided completely

With all sufficiency

Always in all things, that you may

Abound throughout each day

Unto every good work, as He

Has dispersed abroad, see

God has given unto the poor

And He remains true, sure

He who gives to you daily bread

With daily supplies fed

He too multiplies your seed sown

You shall find produce grown

For you being enriched in all

Things shall prosper, not fall

You shall be bounteous to share

Liberally here, there

Which causes many thanks, God be

Praised, for generous He

Well done, Orchi! A fine treatment of the passage. 👏🌹

Thank you Tristan. it's about money matters specifically here, I think, though can apply to any giving. If the Corinthians groaned or moaned 'Oh no, not money appeals again,' St Paul is fair in explaining about giving. I heard one sermon/talk on 'Keep enough for yourselves though'. A bit stunning to hear, as it's often a theme of 'give, give, give'.

Thanks N. St Paul\'s fair about giving, not money-grabbing. He doesn\'t ask for money himself but appeals for other some churches needs. It beats me how a group felt they had to rebuild a church building that was not even 70 years old - they\'ll be paying for it for years. Got any spare dough there?! I got some buttons instead of cash - what use is that? lol.

oh yes, i resonate with the emotions and words, as it is the Lord alone who gives, [whether we deserve it or not] and does not seem to mind that we are sometimes so ungrateful
So today, let us offer thanks and gratitude for life, good health, and all that we have been given
