Wow. This is direct enough to grab one's attention and cryptic enough to leave them lingering, searching for the inner meaning it speaks to them within. That, imho, is true art. Multiple interpretations fit this...for me, it spoke of addiction because that is something that has affected me personally. But that need not be what it is about. Again, that is the brilliance of this brief but extremely impactful poem. Well done, my friend! πŸŒΉπŸ‘

Thanks for your kind, insightful comments, Tristan! I too, have struggled with compulsive habits. In the rhyme, I was pointing more at an energy within than a substance (assuming it was a substance issue). However, having reread it, I can see that it fits substance abuse just as well.
I hope you are in the clear now with addiction. For me, dwelling in the Church of Smyrna has helped a lot.
      Have a great weekend!

Yes, I am in the clear. Thankfully. The church has been a help to me too. I hope you have a great weekend as well, my friend!

Nicely done. This flows really well.

Thanks, Tom. The water is starting to flow through the Church of Smyrna!

Here’s hoping that the allure matches the revelation in whatever the obsession or compulsions may be !
