Friend or Foe?

CelticNinja

                 Friend or Foe

Alcohol is not you friend

as it often pretends to be,

providing a temporary sense

of artificial glee,

and then before you know it

you’re alone and on your knees,

puking in the toilet

and praying your spinning head

will ease,

but this is not the biggest issue

that your drunkenness will face,

but more the sense of embarrassment

and personal disgrace

at the poisoned words spoken

and previous promises broken,

so the next time you’re

feeling down and fancy a little drink,

just pause for a second

and have a real good think.
