The Price You Pay

Accidental Poet

As you go through life

You may think it’s all a simple game

When suddenly you realize

That defeat was never your aim

Yes, life has a learning curve

Pay attention to the value of risk

For the frown you may wear

Might be result from not your wish

So, beware of too good to be true

Remember you get what you pay for

Trust may end up the price you pay

And when trust leaves you poor

Let truth be your companion

As deceitful eyes tell tall tales

And your nemeses follow your lead

To their own derail

Thanks Teddy. I've always loved listening to the Alan Parsons Project, and that song which is made up in 4 parts is one of my favs. My poem here was inspired by this song. 🎼🎡🎢🎡🎢😊
