Grief

GenXer Shamrocker ☘️

We’ve all been there a time or two before. One minute things are looking up; the next our heart drops to the floor. Our loved one’s called home to Him above. In our hearts lies a forever love. With grief comes a wave of feelings. You wonder why you’re left behind, are you dreaming? We learn that death is part of life. That doesn’t fill the empty void we now feel inside. To know what it takes to go on without the ones we love? There would have to be an understanding of Him up above. Grief is not easy. It changes you forever. Knowing there’s a healer, a friend, a teacher in Him; just makes it a little better.

It is the anniversary of my Dad’s death. Thirty four years ago. Reading your poem about grief reminds me that it is a journey. The rawness has gone, there is the softness of acceptance and the bond of love remains as strong. Thank you for posting.
