love that consumes me

zuzu

I want a love that consumes me,

A fire that never fades,

The kind you see in movies,

The kind that’s never afraid.

A love that always chooses me,

Above the rest, above it all,

Like a mother’s gentle care,

Or a father’s steady call.

A brother’s strength to protect,

A sister’s love that never ends,

A bond so deep, so unshaken,

A love that always mends.

I want a love that’s wild,

A little daring, a little free,

A passion so strong,

It could move the world for me.

Simple, true, and endlessly deep,

The kind of love my soul can keep.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I want the kind of love you see in movies. Call me delusional, but that’s the love I crave— A love where both are bold enough to choose each other. I want to give and receive love without limits, A love so deep it consumes me completely.

A lovely piece of writing about chasing the holy grail of love, something that we all desire but very hard to find, enjoyed the read
