One Heart

Paul Gerard Reed

The room is filled with space

The walls melt away

The ceiling has no place

The floor has run astray,

This is where we can meet again

After the spattering rain;

The storm left us separated

Sent us spiralling different ways

To each other we were dedicated

But then we got lost in a haze,

Our familiar world lost

Helpless, through space tossed;

But now, in emptiness reunited

 We can meet once again

A dark candle lighted

Flickering through the rain,

We thought we were forever apart

But now beat as one heart.

Beyond this life and it's fences

Boundaries, limits and ends

There is a place where our senses

Are cradled and sorrow mends,

Heaven's gate has opened wide

To take us on an endless ride.
