You Gentle Being

Across the skylines of this big, bold world, our palms pressed together, looking at the time we hold. Spotting the lights that are afar, with the trees ablaze. The bitter chill of the late november evenings breeze leaned our bodies closer together. I feel solace in the presence of you. You ask me what I am thinking, and I simply say nothing. Nothing is a rarity in the mind of Olive. In the mind of me there are always motions to be done and tasks to complete. But in this very moment I feel nothing but you. Our bench, your warmth and your smile all seem like mere moments ago. The soft music you played illuminated the full you. Many times aloud words were not used in your expressions, it was through the simple gestures you gave to me. The best way to put you was silent yet hearing. Your soul beautiful in the words you chose to speak. In your actions the intention of love was always there. Even through the years I put you through the wringer you continued to keep on. The dim lights in the room on Maplewood street. Nothing felt more complete, nothing felt more true. The presence of you drowned out everything and everywhere all at once. The spontaneity of your presence the gentleness of your being, is something i hold to. A request in the wall brought me the change of you and me, us. It dragged me away and held me hostage until I learned to live beyond you.
