The Devils Kiss

Poetic Licence

The Devil`s Kiss.

Watch out for the hand of love, it could be the devil’s kiss.

What you see before you may not be everything you wish.

Fooled by the way it makes you feel it's impossible to tell.

Is it as good as it seems or are you held firm under a spell.

Is the world of love and passion an honest positive reality.

Or something she carefully created, and it is all imaginary.

Do you feel that good or have you clearly misunderstood.

Is the love the tool to manipulate you, any way she could.

She found your weakness quickly and filled that tiny hole.

And in her best laid plans, you acquired the starring role.

She took you up to heaven then returned you back to hell.

You ended up drinking poison from the heart break well.

You were touched not by love but truly by the devil`s kiss.

And you never received anything you ever really wished.

It is said that the devil comes to us like an angel of light and thus this cautionary verse brings thoughts of vigilance and care. A good way to start the week. Thanks ever so kindly. 🙏🏻👍🕊️

A look at the dark side of what we call love but I feel is more passion. So well worded and rhymed this one flows on seductively. Nicely done

So well composed Tobani. A poem with a message about a She Devil. I would imagine many a dumped bloke thinks he was dealing with one of those. Much enjoyed.
