To the One Who Made Me Whole

Dear Darling,

As you find your peace,

I reflect on my errors and the words left unspoken.

Through endless tears, I’ve wept; tirelessly, I’ve fought

Fought to remain resilient for our child. 

As I gaze at your picture resting on my lap,

I gently caress your cheek, tears streaming down my cheeks.

I speak to you as though you are right beside me.

Perhaps you can hear my words; perhaps you cannot.

My dear, I long for you and wish you were by my side.

I’ve kept this to myself, but I want you to know: you’ve transformed me for the better.

You’ve brought a sense of calm into my life and helped me embrace the idea of love.

I can almost see the puzzled expression on your face as you read this.

It’s a fact—I was skeptical about the existence of true love until you came into my life.

Hearing you dive into your passions, especially when you got all geeky, was something I cherished.

Even if I acted indifferent, I truly adored the way your face would brighten up.

I treasured the brief moments we shared,

whether we were immersed in a book or joyfully laughing and dancing.

I appreciated that we never went to bed upset, as it was a commitment we upheld together.

I admired your unwavering dedication to the promises you made.

I cherished the way you referred to me as your "Heart"

I respected how fiercely you defended your family.

My dearest, my love for you will last an eternity, and you will always hold a special place in my heart.
