I am no more perfect
Than I am flawed
No more indifferent
Than I am awed
For my eyes have seen
The coldness of hatred
My heart the love
Of two hearts mated
My ears the screams of pain
The music of silence
My soul the feel of compassion
Of rescuing ambulance sirens
The vagueness of
Uncharted confusion
The clarity of seeing
Deceitful illusion
In a world such as this
A mix of good and bad
One must except it all
A face happy or sad
We comfort the injured
Help them heal
See inevitabity in our death
The ever turning of life’s wheel
You help me
As I help you
Compassion lives in all of us
If you believe in it too

A beautiful write reminding us that compassion should be part of our daily lives, enjoyed the read
Thanks Tobani, compassion is something I see everyday as one of the world's most needed necessity. 😊
You are very welcome
Beautiful dearest A.P just beautiful 🌹
Thank you Teddy. Your compliments always fill me with confidence and pride. 🌹
Such a lovely message for everyone .. indeed a gift to us all .. Neville
Thanks N, this one started with the first stanza coming to me all at once, the rest was a little at a time. The last stanza needed a little reworking until I felt it was right. The idea never seems to leave me that the world is in dire need of compassion for others.
This poem so well worded and metered reflects the dialectic of opposites in such a concise and satisfying manner. I loved it and it deserves a fave
Thanks soren, I appreciate your compliment and the fav, I'm delighted that you approve. 😊👍
