They say that actions speak louder than words,
but can you tell me what love is if none of that adds up?
If love isn't defined by the promises we make,
nor is love the intention with every hug we give,
then how can I know you love me?
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder,
so what do we tell those who have never been told they're beautiful?
There are people who desperately cling onto the world's thorns,
enough blood dripping down their hands to make up for a hundred years of war.
Do we call them brave for killing themselves in hopes they aren't alone?
Do we lie to them in the same way we lie about love?
