MAN IN THE TOWER

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

There are things
Mortal men
Should never see
That rising tower
Rough and leaning
The breath of genius
Trapped..
Sat bleeding.

Upward climbing
Dreaming..screaming
Summit beckons
Hands splintered
Pleading
Solitary figure
A candle burns
Tower shaking
Speaking..
Words.

Into his eyes
Trembling
Forsaking
Blue whirlpools
His voice
Relating
The fated time
About to fall
About his head
A crown of words.

A great line "About his head a crown of words" That line alone deserves a fave.
