Sitting on a roadside by the desert
“where is the peace?”, always felt hurt.
Desperate for change, is there still hope?
Too heavy of a burden, I’m not able to cope.
Blinded by my sins, where is the light?
with my strength alone, I can’t win this fight.
hands lifted high, down on my knees
Come swiftly, o Lord, and rescue me please.
In this desolate place, filled with doom
A seed began to sprout, ready to bloom
Persistently praying, I can barely kneel
His love and warm embrace, suddenly I feel.
I drown in God’s grace, the old me has gone
“You are My beloved, welcome home, My son.”
He rescued me and removed all my fears
No more pain, sorrow—God wiped all my tears
I sought the Lord and He answered me
He forgave me, seven times seventy.
His only Son was crucified for my sake
A breakthrough I encountered in a heartbreak.
