wren

Can you see me?

I know you now, I think

My world made small and simple

I think you have been me all along

Never a true love or a lost touch or a dream

You have been me

I waited for you, fingers stretched towards dark ceilings, wishes scattered across years like stars

Grasping for nothing when your warm hand was already in mine

I have written you letters and poems and songs

Our life is a love letter, don’t you see?

I’ve read it a thousand times over. I have read them all.

I love you.
