To yield to you would imply a shared perspective, An agreement with your actions, retrospective. It would suggest I deem myself deserving of the pain, The metaphorical wounds, the heart's deep stain.
We've journeyed through trials, a repetitive strain, Lessons presented, yet your understanding remained vain. You mirrored my efforts, a facade you displayed, A fabrication unveiled, leaving your conscience dismayed.
Hence, shadows haunt you, your thoughts turn to strife, Your kin will falter when faced with the end of life. They too, in relationships, love's true essence missed, A superficial happiness, a counterfeit tryst.
To acquiesce would mean accepting your charade, The "roommate" disguise, a role so poorly played. To feign belief in this flimsy, transparent lie, Would be to deem myself foolish, beneath the sky.
What could be worse?
