The Score of Life
It’s there playing softly in the background
Sometimes swelling to a very loud sound
Changing tense and mood with melody
Fear, romance, the response of jealousy
It can make your days fanciful and light
Then turn them into the darkest of nights
Might have some on the edge of the seat
Or make them want to get on their feet
At times you can’t hear it, but it’s there
Like a puppeteer pulling strings in the air
It sets the measure and drives the tempo
The meter determining the rhythm’s inflow
Yet unaware of its existence and effect
It sets the tone of our lives, in retrospect
The victories, the pain, the toil and strife
Are just notes played out in the Score of Life

I very much enjoyed your poem. And what a variety of notes played out in the score of life there are. Your poem allowed me to travel and I pondered also on the sounds
of nature and how they also accompany me on my journey. Pleased I stopped by.
Cassie, thank you for taking the time to read and comment. Your time and thoughts add to the symphony of life with sweet notes of encouragement.
