IT'S HER

kashish

IT'S HER

I shouted, I screamed

You're the worst person

I've ever seen.

But is it really true?

'Cause she was the one

Protecting me from all my blues.

She grieved in times I was in pain

Emerging as a canopy when I was drenched in rain

She gave her all, never expecting favor in return

Came up as an ointment to my little scars

While her own bruises burn.

Suppressing her desires, she chose to cradle mine

Parting with her own light and cheering me to shine

I glanced at her reflection with a curious thought

Wondering of the battles she encountered and silently fought

Shielding me from the darkest depths of the outer world

Trading her happiness as a mortgage so that mine can be bought.

Indeed exists a human, selfless as no other

With a serene and lucid face, I identify her as my mother.
