  This poem tells me that a mother has great concern for her son. She is pleading with to him to return home in this poem. The reader doesn’t know the reason, but as a mother and grandmother myself, that plea is made out of great love and for a reason. Also a promise has been made. When children leave the nest, what a hole it leaves in the heart of their mother.

  A mother's love is a special love no other can have. Being a son not a mother I can not know it but I have felt it. It is felt in this poem. Nicely done
