MORTAL

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

High above
Ventured sorrow
Angels wings
A lost tomorrow
Sunshine spied
Beneath a cloud
Tainted blueness
Distant sound.

Such angels
Who take souls away
Sweep the skies
In wild array
While here..yes
In mortalities claw
We weep our loss
Grieve some more.

A final kiss
A never heard word
The spiralling flight
Of dying bird.
A whisper upon
The towering death
Thats awaits us all
A cold dark breath.

Lovely your word choice has eliminate all superfluous words rapidly painting the image. And beautiful image it is.

Since the first humans and the first funeral grief has been an undertone where mortality and thoughts of posterity are concerned. Your poem delves wonderfully into this ever present element in our existence and journey to the afterlife πŸ™πŸ»πŸ•Š
