Drowning Man

Emperor

Waves like gentle caresses

Tides might bring them home

Drowning Man, deep in love

Breathless and alone

Torn between the two

The surface and the bed

Hang between the choices

Drowning, not yet dead

Soon the moon shall pull

Let what's lost decide

The lost said the tide will bring them

Now we await the tide

What brought breath under water

Was a thought of their return

The body may be drowning

But the heart will only burn

Twice the tide came

What's lost still remains

Tomorrow will be new tides

And we shall drown again
