The Rainbow Trains.

David Wakeling

The Red Train is flying along the tracks,
The Red Train is overloaded.
It has too many passengers and none are very happy.

The Orange Train is at the station,
Hardly anyone is going on that train.
It is the waiting Train.

Now the Yellow Train is filled with children,
Some of them are singing songs and telling jokes,
The Yellow Train will take you half way.

The Green Train has dining cars and beautiful views.
The people always fall in love on the Green train.
It is the Train of Joy.

The Blue Train is quiet today the passengers are resting.
Perhaps tomorrow they will look at the scenery.
Perhaps not because they are sad.

The Indigo Train has only serious people on it,
No one every has a laugh and everyone sits still,
Afraid of what might be around the corner.

The Violet Train is slow Train that goes carefully along,
Must of the passengers look back and share memories.
It may soon come to a stop.

The Last train is the Black train,
It hides in a tunnel, coming out now and again to pick up travelers,
At the end of their journey.

Get your songs sung and dance your dance, under the light of the Moon.
Because The Black train is coming, coming. Oh The Black Train is coming soon.

All the choices we have and have to make on our journey, but the one thing we cannot change is death. A cleverly crafted and well written piece, really enjoyed
