Fear and Pain

David Wakeling

Fear and pain are outside your window,
They never leave you, they never diminish,
They will follow you today where ever you may go.

So when you fall to the ground and cry,
A  bullet in your heart and without a wish,
The cold bald headed vultures are going to fly.

The kind friend you need is far away,
No one will catch the flaming arrow for you,
Your last hours will be spent struggling to pray.

Fear not for when this curtain comes down,
And all the disappointments and doubts you knew,
Are gone, the world will be remade at sun down.

A sad poem. There can be fear and pain outside the window, but there can also be sunlight, contentment and warmth. Have a good Sunday David.

I love the contrast between the first and last stanza, constant fear and fear not. I have lived in the first stanza and now live in the last. A wonderful write

Love your metaphors, love the feelings you put into this write. Sometimes writting your sadness and fears into words become a release so you can move on. Kind of like a release. I truly enjoyed this read and keep writting from your heart. I do. Good write

I really, really really liked this poem. It makes me feel like I'm not the only one. Fear and pain can be very lonely but does make good writings. Loved your metaphors. I hope you are feeling better.
