The moth prince, a poetic epica(unfinished)

3nd3r_Dr4g0nt

The fae are creatures elusive by flight

step into their rings, but you won't find delight.

though our story follows true romance

never go looking through their plants

Our story begins, in a highschool so true

The new transfer student is looking quite blue.

From the window, we follow Arcade

Not really caring about his grade.

The teacher finally breaks through his thoughts

Pulls his head out of the moss.

Though in this scene he'll meet future friends

But it won't be long until class is to end.

Before the bell rings, releasing her mercy

The teacher mentions something to make Arcades grades less thirsty

Capture bioluminescence, get extra credit

He must make sure he doesn't forget it.

Ring ring ring, the bell sheds her mercy

Future friend leaves a note to a website quite wordy.

Into the forest, soon he will be

Thinking if a fae sighting he might see.

The sun hangs low, dipping his head

The last of his light, ready to spend.

Technology gives Arcade sight

So that he might not wander in fright.

Walk around aimlessly as moths draw near

He'll soon find a friend that will grow very dear.

Looks at his light and is soon filled with dread

He notices his battery almost dead

Power is low, and soon gathers fog

Arcade chooses to return before he gets lost.

While desperate to recklessly flee

he then accidentally trips on a tree.

Tumbling to the ground falling with sound

Arcade aches unaware his world is about to shake

In the dark, a moth faery spawns

Arcades reality was just hit with a bomb

Picking up the light, the moth stares in delight

Arcade jumps back, reacting in fright

Soon he realizes, a creature of fantasy

His adventure now far more than satisfactory.

"Hi there fairy" Arcade says at the sight

However the faerys face does not scream delight.

Turning around, the moth goes to flee

Arcade is mad, thinks that's pretty mean.

Chasing after in attempt to get his phone

He soon loses him, can't seem to see where the moth did go.

Getting lost, the glow worms light up his path

Arcade then remembers about his class.

Soon he finds a mossy cave

Telling himself that's where our moth stays.

Through the moss curtain, Arcade treks deep

Soon finding the phone he so seeks.

Surprising the moth, Arcade is soon blinded

The embers of romance ready to be ignited.

As they bicker, the battery grows lower

However their encounter is far from over.

Soon enough, the room grows dark

The moth returns the phone, now ready to part.

Not too long after, the bicker resumes

But cut short when Arcade doesn't ensue.

Soon our moth tells his future beloved to leave

Seeing him more as an annoying flea.

Arcade complains about his lack of light

Reminds the fae of his incompetent sight

Begrudgingly, the fae offers help

Determined to go back to being by himself

The fae leads the way, Arcade following behind

The sight of the fae’s wings catches Arcades mind

He asks his fae why he doesn't fly

His fae then tells him the reason why

The fae we see is from a world of magic

However his story is most tragic

He was once the prince of this magic land

But when he turned sixteen things got out of hand

He dawned on ‘his’ crown

And that was the moment his world was turned upside down

A curse was put on him, stealing his magic

The effects of this curse is most drastic

Our fae became trapped in the land of humans

Forced to wander, his looks in ruins

Arcade is fascinated by the fae’s recount

Our fae thinks Arcades mind is full of doubt

Arcade reassures that he believes

Claims he’ll listen to anything the fae decrees

The fae says his reaction is surprising

Arcade asks how else to react to something so emprising

His fae takes offense to the downplay of his situation

Arcade apologizes for his inconsideration

Arcade says his life is boring and has no friends

He thought moving was something he would discommend

But now, he's starting to see the light at the tunnels end

The fae leads Arcade back to his bike

The fae then decides it’s time to take a hike

Arcade bids him farewell in turn

It is now that the fae reveals his name is Fern.

Arcade tells his name to Fern and goes on his way

Fern is more than done with today

The next day Arcade awakes to a phone that’s dead

Realizing this, he comes to terms that last night's adventure was not just in his head

Soon Arcade is making his way to class

Hopefully his phone has enough gas

Checking his phone, he's reminded of his extra credit

The chaos of last night made him forget it

He thinks back to the glow worms by Ferns cave

Tells himself he’ll go back later today

His mind drifts to Fern

Which is where our story turns

Deep in the forest our moth found a fox

To steal the creatures food, Fern makes a face that causes shock

Dropping the berries, the fox runs away

As the fox flees, Fern collects a berry bouquet

As he does, his mind drifts to when he was small

A memory of asking his mom if he could go outside the walls

Smelling the flowers and eating

it’s sweet seeds

He notices a creature he decides to feed

The creature takes the seed and then gives chase

However Ferns body cannot handle the race

An epic poem that tells its story in verse. It seems that it is not finished and will have a second chapter. Nicely worded
