Regardless of how often I pour my grief onto the pages I touch,
I always end up with pages filled with the echoes of your name.
Regardless of the depths in which I have drowned in the hysterical storm of my sorrow for you,
My tears have carved pathways of trauma and anguish,
Through which I walk every day,
Yet they could never touch the lifeless stone in your chest,
Which you call your 'heart'.
Your undesired absence has left me chained to the shackles of despair,
With nights that never sleep.
I am forced to endure endless nights,
Poisoned by my memories of you,
Stretching far beyond the horizon like the endless sand of an Arabian desert.
Each night grows ever more unbearable,
Every passing moment laced with the bitterness of my solitude.

- Comment from author about the poem: This is a personal poem I have written about the person I loved. We were always by each other's side, both figuratively and literally, but that is no longer my reality and on days when the loneliness of our separation feels unbearable I decide to write it down. I hope you lovely individuals enjoy my very first poem!

The pain of separation and the loneliness it brings, at times feels all to much. You feel that as you read a very well written poem.
