Pain. Pain teaches you who will be with you when you’re going through rough times. It shows you who’s been honest and who’s been telling you lies. Love. Love teaches you patience. Compassion and how to listen. It teaches you perseverance and most of all resilience. Rock bottom. This is a place we fight hard to ignore. It’s also in our darkest moments where we begin to explore. Who we are. What we’re made of. How to build ourselves back up. It teaches us our weaknesses and how to make them tough. Friendship. This teaches you who’s real. Who’s fake. Who’s there only for a season. No matter the outcome, there’s a hidden much deeper reason. Grief. A lesson so painful that it comes in constant waves. This teaches us about Him above and of his comfort, mercy, and grace. Life’s hardest lessons are often taught through personal experience. This is no accident nor is it coincidence. Life’s hardest lessons are usually most painful of all. It’s through these lessons we rise or fall.
