The Passion Has Gone.
Where mountains used
To move
And the earth would tremor.
Now an exasperating sigh
That goes on
Forever.
Where bodies used to touch
And electric was
Created.
Your latest love evaluation
States that you have
Since been
Downgraded.
Eyes that used to twinkle
And shine in the
Dark
Light.
Now empty and hollow
Displaying a lack
Of
Delight.
When loving words
Used to dance
In the
Listening
Ears.
Now the sound of
Impatience is all
You ever
Hear.
Maybe over time
You have acquired
Complacency.
Could be that they
Have a different
Level of
Expectancy.
When the passion used
To run hot
And you delivered
Each other's
Desires.
You now realise
Your heart pleasing
Contract has long
Since
Expired.
Yet when you sit and
Analyse where it all
Went
Wrong.
One thing is for
Certain
All the passion
Has
Gone.

One of the sad things in life and I guess, something of a universal truth .. is that when the passion has well n truly dissipated there's no getting it back .. a fact so well poemed .. Neville
Thank you for your kind words, enjoy your day
The old song "You've lost that lovin feeling" comes through strong and clear in this poem. It is hard to keep the fire alive and once out it is even harder to restart. A wonderful write.
Thank you for your kind words, enjoy your day
We're being asked to dig deep.
The electricity
Never dies
It lies
In wait
Keep the faith
What if the snake
Can only awake
When all passion dissipates?

A hard truth in life at times
It's sad...but I live in this poem. Not what I want, never what I wanted, but my reality all the same. Thank you for giving it words. Brought me to tears this morning. Well done, my friend! 🌹👏

You’re welcome!
On Valentine's Day of all days in the year, this eloquent tribute to the reality of this holiday and oft-extolled romance. La dee. Too perfect. Charmingly rendered in seeming simplicity and tantalizing brevity, with tasteful imagery and an almost exquisitely haunting poignancy. Thank you for sharing.
