There was never a problem I couldn't outrun
No matter the mess or the crime
Whether I was right or wrong
I would always just move on.
Another city another town
Free to repeat the same mistakes
Hurt some people and break some heart's
I don't have to answer to anyone
Living life on my own terms no regrets.
Outrunning the dark shadows of the past
But the darkness is constantly gaining ground
The clouds of regret and guilt
Now hover over me
The walls of what I've done
Are closing in on me.
I know I'm getting older now
And life on the road has been unforgiving on me
People demand accountability from me
So I guess I'm packing my bags and moving on
Won't be long in this city and I'll be gone
I am the running man but I know
I'm running out of places to go.
