Old songs

Old songs

"Cats in a cradle" a song from my youth,
school, teaching lies and calling them truth.
Aerosmith was still rocking it like before,
the White Stripes yet to send the armies to war.
Guns and Roses were shooting bullets instead,
Pearl Jammed the Nirvana out of Radiohead.
Blink 182'ed Korn and grabbed a pumpkin stem.
Jane's Addiction to Hole and R.E.M.

The 80's and 90's musical retreats,
in stadiums, fields, and on the streets.
At "Monsters of Rock", drunk listening to songs,
loved the concerts lasting many hours long.
"Hetfield" flicking guitar picks singing loud,
standing at the front of a 100 thousand crowd.
Tool sounded amazing on that other night,
a Canadian listening to Americans in a German site.

Music has always inspired the silent hours,
extended the lengths of baths and showers.
Thinking back to youths joyous days,
whenever an old song, its music plays.
