Dear Winston ...

Kurt Philip Behm

“Truth

is often attended

by a bodyguard

of lies”

A consequence

so precious

its veracity

must hide

Deep within

the smoke

on a battlefield

most dire

Victory burns

within each man

intrepid

— to inspire

These are powerful words in tribute to a day that must not be forgotten (though I feel it almost has been). Hard words, but true. Well done, my friend! 🌹👏

            Winston
            Just who were you?
            Perhaps Mr.Chamberlain
            Could've told us
            A thing or two

That’s for you to figure out, genius. Read the footnote.
