A Solitary Path

Sehrab Sathoo

In valleys where saffron blooms,
And mountains touch the sky,
Arose a cry for freedom's dawn,
Beneath a watchful eye.
With hearts ablaze, they took their stand,
Against a power untold,
For rights denied, for dreams deferred,
Their voices brave and bold.
Through winding paths and forests deep,
They fought with fervent zeal,
For a land they loved, a heritage,
A future to reveal.
Some say they're lost, misguided souls,
Who chose a violent way,
But others claim they're heroes born,
Who dared to disobey.
In shadows lurk the tales untold,
Of sacrifices made,
Of families torn, of lives uprooted,
In this unending raid.
Yet hope remains, a flickering flame,
That peace may one day reign,
When dialogues replace the guns,
And healing eases pain.
For Kashmir's heart, though scarred and deep,
Still beats with resilient might,
A testament to human strength,
That seeks a future bright.
