This brevity tells me that through strength and determination, someone can succeed no matter how difficult their start in life. Anyone in this position deserves to be congratulated.

A common theme. However, it may be heads or tails.

          JDB,

this is a striking & minimalistic statement. It suggests themes of independence, isolation, & possibly defiance. Not much more to add otherwise my comment will be longer than the poem itself...oh hang on, it already is!!

          regards

Perhaps, grit and determination may not always determine outcomes.

This has a George Carlin type of word play to it. Loved it

Your mind and mine are in sync on this one.

What ever cards you are dealt early in life, you can succeed, enjoyed the read

A common theme, the other side of Harvey Dent's coin.
