Love Confessional

Parisab

I have love for life now

I stuff life in my suitcase

I grab everything I can, still

Call the hoarders hotline,  if they can save me

I love life now

I love what’s ugly and what makes their beauty shine

I love life now with its violence and the peace that surrenders all hearts

This is how I found my love, when I have nothing in common with you, this is when  I love you the most
When I’m most impatient
It’s best when I nod my head

And I take my Angles baseball cap now

Meet me at the corner for Sushi in Chinatown

She’s tragically charming, my Los Angeles

When I hang my dress at the Solitude Cantina

And smell the brandy on your breath

I love life when you caress a cigar

I love the times you feel lucky

And try to be charming

You know that smile and wink

You’re sly and I love life right now

when you say that I don’t

Then I complain about the pain of

loving life and the indulgence of

regret and shame

I love life and I hope that you feel me

as you try to save me from loving life too much

I love how my beauty fades when you look closer, but you are rubbing my shoulder for “looking stunning”

Don’t cry it’s only goodbye as I’m leaving and staying in the center of the universe because when you love life you can live everywhere

It’s only because the insignificant can bring my loss feel complete again

I love life when I discover that you can’t make everything ok and my kisses can’t heal the suffering

I’ll still cry because I still love life

Only pain can sustain me to love life

It’s to trust I’ll still close my eyes and look away in my frailties but I’m alive to only love life

When I don’t love life, I hear music and then I love life back

I pick up the ashes from the rubbles then I’m grateful and generous and cook for us it’s only easy to love life when you stand under the California sun, as the shadows are the tattoos etched like home on your skin

Your pressured speech is melodic and divine only and that’s when I can only love life

I love life when I wash away our pain and make room for more brusin’

The moment I found beauty in the old and found the beautiful lovely and uninteresting I knew I loved life

To love something you must know it and to know it is to live it. A poem of life. Have lived much of that, even in California, so I feel it. Lovely

Jeez I just love it when you talk dirty and write just for me like that .. it has the feel of finality about it .. I hope I am wrong and there's many more coming my way .. Neville

I’m glad if this poem resonates even in its intimacy-It was just an exercise, so hopefully it won’t be my final one, dear Neville

Reading this with the fires in the background brings to the fore both urgency and edge 🙏🏻🕊

Thank you for noticing that connection to the recent crisis as of late-this must have been subliminal but I saw it after its completion-this could be my love letter to Los Angeles as well

Ah, time and its passing does leave some breadcrumb clues, guiding us ‘home’ just as with Hans en Grietje🙏🏻🕊
