Bad Apple

lambsacrificed

You speak in candy:

A shell, on the words

All thick, and sickly

Do you promise?

Everything good

But it’s all wet, perverted,

The muscle, twisted

Trails over the gloss

Leeching off the sweetness

And the sugar

I can't swallow you whole

When you linger on the tongue

And ball your fists

Against the incisors

It’s all wet, perverted

But it’s rational

It’s too thick, and too sickly

I taste what you leave

Did you promise?

The ache

So I’ll sink in the casing,

Crack the sugar

Bitter, you’re sour

At the core

What a metaphor! Very nicely pursued in poetic form from beginning to end.
