I May Bloom Again

Paul Gerard Reed

 When the sweeping winds have eased

And the dusts settled in the desert,

When clouds have lifted to the heavens

And restless rivers reached the sea,

When tomorrow has passed

And the future is just a memory,

Then I may bloom again;

For I may have been here before

But when I cannot recall

Not now, when my mind is in turmoil

From the shadows passing through

But when the yew trees are old and wisened

And the ocean's calm renewed

Then I may bloom again;

When happiness overcomes the sorrow

And lions roared themselves to silence,

When the morning mists clear

And the sun shines on your face,

When all the world is young again

And arms of love reach to embrace

Then I may bloom again.

    Beautiful and effective use of repetition 🙏🏻🕊

    The promise is enhanced in a wistful way with the repeated verse. A most lovely and lingering thought in the mind that in its own way is haunting.
