I'm a girl

Pineapple_pizza018

I used to get carried away

Nothing in my brain just empty space

Don’t speak unless you have something nice to say

Some people can get away with anything

Clear your mind

Don't count to ten count to 20

You’ll get left behind

If you’re that annoying

don’t speak at all

Or you’ll fall

Off the pedestal they put you on

Women do the dirty work

As men sit on the sidelines

You’re not given a manual

But expected to just follow the guidelines

On the first page of life

Written in blood that’s blue

It’s your life,

You choose

You say I’m your little girl

But you tell me not to speak

Always called me your world

But you were just lying to me

Some day the only thing in your brain

Won’t just be empty space

 I always get hurt

Never win the battle

When I’m about to lose the war

My head always rattles

I wouldn’t know what to do in a fight

Was only taught to wave the white flag

As I get closer to the light

I get even more drawn into the black

I was taught to back down

I wear a tiara not a crown

For years my vision has been a blur

I’m just waiting for them to create a cure

Since I can’t do anything by myself

I always have to have help

I'm trying to find the light

But I struggle

I try with all my might

While my tears create a puddle

But the fine print says

Don’t go looking for the light, be it instead

My mind is like a prison

 And all the prisoners escaped

 The bar has been risen

They have now sealed my fate

The last page of life that I’ll write will say

Don’t blame yourself for everyone else’s mistakes

A great write that talks of inequities that are so true. Women of the past smarter than men controlled by astute manipulations and ruled through craft and wile. We all use the weapons that we have been given

A touching and very well expressed write around the manipulation of woman, the lengths men go to and all the tools they will use to maintain that control, great write
