Now is that moment in the evening
When we can finally rest our heads
For everyone dear to us is at home
Tucked up safely in their beds;
The headlong whirl of the day is over
And sounds have settled to a hush
The pace has slowed almost to a halt
Disappeared the frantic rush;
The monsters and dragons have slunk away
Back to their deep, dark caves
They heave their lonely sigh of defeat
And leave us the peace we crave;
Whatever tomorrow might bring us
Whatever might come around
This moment belongs to us
With everyone safe and sound.
