UNKNOWN HERO

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

An unknown hero
Slowly bleeding
His injured life
Away
Stood forlorn
In lashing rain
In a storm
That blows one way.

Is it a dream
Or another place ?
Dying wishes
To alien sky
Forked lightning
Cutting hail
As hours tick
On by.

Blessed
Or cursed
By fire
In this trembling
Moment gaunt
An unknown hero
Slowly bleeding
A battle now fought.

The wounds of war after triumph still bleed. A wonderful write of metaphor that bleeds into the readers mind. Well done
