Till The Day He Is Dead
(2/21/2025 Tom Entrican)
He ran so fast but could not get away
A lesson well learned about pitfalls that day
Too young to know just what lies ahead
The battles he’ll fight till the day he is dead
He did not ask to be brought to this place
But he does his best to stay in God’s grace
The truth now he seeks from the letters in red
For the battles he’ll fight till the day he is dead
A young man so lost for so many years
To many missteps causing to many tears
The pain he inflicted and the pain he endured
And a cold day in hell for him was assured
When he saw the light it was too late to turn
From all of the lessons that he must learn
How many more souls must the devil be fed
Oh the battles they fight till the day they are dead
Growing old put him right in his place
There is not enough time to win his race
Hands over his burdens to Jesus Christ
Hard lesson learned, he doesn’t think twice
Knowing the truth, there’s nowhere to hide
We all must decide where we will reside
His words ring out, in the bible He says
The battles they’ll fight till the day they are dead
Some days he struggles with the will to live
At times it feels he has nothing left to give
But it is not his to give or to take
He knows the Father will make no mistake
So he prays each night until he falls asleep
For wolves are preying on Heavens own sheep
He sheds many tears for what lies ahead
And the battles he’ll fight till the day he is dead
