Pas Tells No Lies

Dreamt of a journey 
Peace and fulfilment in the end
Drove forward with anticipation 
Coursing through veins

Road led to places 
Places never seen
Filled with dreams and promises
But, peace and harmony were nowhere to be seen

Somewhere down the road
A road sign caught the light
Future gives promises
But, it's the past which tells no lies

Shifted  to the reverse
Driving too fast
Shunned chasing mirage of hope
Now you are receding into past
