A short time is all it takes,
To reminisce in my mistakes,
In the night my mind will race,
Its pace does not dissipate,
My thoughts coming into place,
I must wait for this tidal wave to rest in its grave,
Which may take days, but I'll surf along these waves,
Till I see brighter days,
When the sun shines its rays.

yes it does. very well expressed - thanks for sharing
Thank you, I've never really been able to express myself unless it was really in a poem, but I normally kept them to myself, but I believe it's time to change that and maybe others feel the same
yes - bottling up one's feelings can only lead to emotional outbursts, so what better way than to express it in verse
so, keep writing - all the best
That is basically how it happens for myself; poetry becomes a pressure release valve. 🙏🏻🕊️
I feel a sense of urgency and uncertainty in this poem. It leaves a sense of anxiety as well. These feelings are well written.
thank you that's exactly what I was feeling I'm glad someone was able to recognize that, i wasn't able to find the right words words on how i was feeling when writing that but I'm glad you were able to understand and assist on what emotions i was feeling
Expressive write dealing with a troulbled and weighty mind, well written
