Salesmen are the modern equivalent

of the scouts who - in primordial times

would make contact with neighboring tribes

and learn what gods are worshipped

and where the gold is kept

Restless souls with a capacity for metamorphosis

First impressions, handshakes, quick on their feet.

Lovers of the beginning of things and the hunt

Sales may be their last chance in our ordered world
