Separation guilt

Shellsea

Saying goodbye

boils up feelings of guilt.

"I don't want to hurt her"

"I feel bad for leaving"

"She'll be so upset"

What do you owe her?

It's okay to separate.

I signed a life contract with myself.

I owe her honesty.

Move forward, the hole is calling your name.

A wrestling with what is right and I feel the pull from many directions. I love the last line

I feel torn between decisions, nicely written

This reminds me of my own poem I wrote yesterday; goodbyes can be both hard and healing.

Ah I just read your poem Goodbye. Yes, very similar emotions.
