"Meadow Melancholia"

Peanut

Please don’t tear the petals

off my soft, hibiscus heart.

Of all the flowers in the field,

you deserve a better one.

You want a pretty flower,

and I have a thorny stem.

It wasn’t always that way.

I’m just scared to let you in.

It isn't mine or a friend's.

We are no acquaintances.

I borrowed a few traits,

but I always revert to this.

Please don’t tear the petals

from the flower I wish to be.

In every meadow of the world,

I will always be a weed.

Every thing has its place and as a plant it may grow amongst the other plants. A sad write but very identifiable

A sad write around the lack of self worth and belief in themselves, well expressed
