The Flower and Me.

Junes

The flower I love, so bright and rare,
Already blooms in another’s care.
Its petals glow with colors true,
A beauty I wish I never knew.

Its heart belongs, I understand,
To gentle touch and knowing hand.
Each time I tend, each time I stay,
It whispers all I do away.

The others say, "Let it be,
A flower bound is not yours to keep."

But still, I kneel in silent prayer,
For it’s the only one I dare.

Like a rose within my chest,
The only one I love the best.
Even if I walk alone,
My heart still lingers near its home.

And though the wind may call my name,
I’d choose to stay, I'd choose the same.
For some flowers bloom not to be mine,
Yet still, I love the rain or shine.

A beautiful write that touches the heart and for that I give it a fave. However that is not all. The meter and wording in the poem give it a very romantic feel and the theme of unrequited love is perfect. Brilliant!

A very touching and heartfelt feeling as you read the feelings of someone who is in love on a one way street, well written and expressed
